User responsibility summary

  • Use ClearVault only for files you own or can manage.
  • Review backup results before deleting originals.
  • Use trusted storage devices and trusted Wi-Fi networks.
  • Keep important files in more than one safe location when possible.
  • Do not disconnect storage while backup is running.

1. Acceptance Of Terms

By using ClearVault Smart Backup, ClearVault Receiver, or the ClearVault website, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, do not use the app, receiver, or downloads.

2. Purpose Of ClearVault

ClearVault is a backup and storage cleanup utility. It helps users scan supported phone files, copy selected files to a chosen destination, verify copied files, create local backup records, and delete verified files only after confirmation.

3. No Cloud Account Or Hosted Backup Service

ClearVault does not provide a hosted cloud backup account, online sync service, payment service, advertising system, or remote recovery service in this version. You are responsible for your USB drive, SSD, pendrive, computer, local network, and any other backup destination you choose.

4. Your Responsibilities

You are responsible for selecting the correct files and destinations, keeping backup devices safe, reviewing backup results, and confirming deletion only when you are satisfied that the copied files are usable. For important files, keep more than one backup in separate safe locations.

Do not unplug a USB drive, disconnect an SSD, shut down the computer receiver, switch networks, or force close the app while a backup is running.

5. Backup Verification

ClearVault verifies copied files by size and may use SHA-256 checksum verification where supported. Verification improves safety, but no software can guarantee protection from every possible device, storage, filesystem, network, operating system, or user error.

6. Performance And Parallel Transfers

ClearVault may copy or upload multiple selected files at the same time to improve backup speed. Transfer speed still depends on the phone, destination storage, local network, cable, computer, operating system, and file sizes. Do not disconnect storage, close the receiver, or switch networks while a backup is running.

7. Deletion Of Phone Files

ClearVault is designed to delete only files marked verified and only after user confirmation unless a user explicitly enables an automatic setting. Deleting files from a phone can be permanent depending on Android behavior, the source app, storage provider, and device configuration.

8. Desktop Receiver Use

ClearVault Receiver accepts paired phone backups over a local Wi-Fi network. Use it on trusted private networks, approve only phones you recognize, and close the receiver when it is not needed. If Windows Firewall asks for permission, allow access only on private networks you trust.

9. Prohibited Use

Do not use ClearVault to access, copy, transfer, hide, or delete files that you do not own or do not have permission to manage. Do not use ClearVault Receiver on public or untrusted networks for sensitive files.

10. Local Records And Reports

Backup history, trusted device records, manifests, reports, and settings are stored locally on your phone or computer. Clearing app history may remove local records, but it does not remove files that were already copied to a backup destination.

11. Downloads And Updates

The website may provide Android APK and desktop receiver ZIP downloads. Download and install only from ClearVault links you trust. Future updates may improve backup speed, restore flow, receiver pairing, security, compatibility, and user experience.

12. No Warranty

ClearVault is provided as a utility tool. It is designed with safety checks, confirmation steps, reports, and local-first behavior, but it is provided without warranty that every backup, transfer, verification, deletion, restore, or device combination will work perfectly.

13. Limitation Of Liability

To the maximum extent allowed by applicable law, the developer is not responsible for data loss, storage failure, device issues, incorrect destination selection, accidental deletion, interrupted backups, unauthorized access to backup destinations, network problems, or indirect or consequential damages arising from use of ClearVault.

14. Changes To These Terms

These terms may be updated as ClearVault evolves. Continued use after updates means you accept the revised terms.
